About Oak Park, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Oak Park is a Cook County village located along the western side of Chicago, Illinois. As of 2010, the population of this village was nearly 52,000, making it the 29th largest community in the state by population. Oak Park’s close proximity to Chicago gives residents easy access to the Chicago Loop downtown area via public transportation, including the Blue and Green lines of the Chicago “L.” The community is also located along the shore of Lake Chicago. Oak Park is home to two high schools: Fenwick High School and Oak Park and River Forest High School.
Oak Park is home to several unique area attractions that bring visitors to the community. The 12,000 square foot Cheney Mansion is located in the Historic District, and it is a popular area wedding venue. The Ernest Hemingway Museum is located here, as is the Victorian home where the author spent his early life, and tours are available. Guided tours are also available at the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio, where Wright spent the first 20 years of his career.
In addition to these historical sites, there are some other notable things to do in Oak Park. The Cernan Earth and Space Center features numerous earth and sky shows, including laser light and children’s programs. The Wonder Works: A Children’s Museum is another great destination for families, as children can enjoy hands-on exhibits.
Oak Park residents will need to fire up both their furnace and their air conditioner throughout the course of the year. During the summers, hot conditions with high humidity prevail, and there are many days that temperatures will reach the 90s. Not only can an efficient air cooling system help to make a home more comfortable during these months, but it can also ensure that the air circulating throughout the interior is free of allergens and dust. Winters can be bitterly cold with significant snowfall, so during these months, a heat pump or furnace is needed to prevent dangerous conditions for both people and home plumbing systems.
