Located in Cook County, Illinois, Evergreen Park is a village with a population of roughly 20,000 people. The village was incorporated in 1893, and it consists of only four square miles of total area that is located 17 miles southwest of the Chicago Loop. Evergreen Park is also surrounded by Chicago on its east, south, and north ends, and the community is often referred to as “Village of the Churches” due to the 13 religious congregations located in and around it. Children in Evergreen Park attend one of four elementary schools, but there is only one public high school: Evergreen Park Community High School.
Evergreen Park is home to several points of interest that might intrigue area residents or visitors. The Evergreen Park Candlelight Theater hosts a variety of unique theatrical performances throughout the year. The community runs several different parks that provide great spaces for outdoor recreation, including Duffy Park, Yukich Field, and Cowboy Park.
